How do I get a taxi at the Stari Grad ferry port?
If you arrive on the car ferry from Split into Stari Grad, there are two ways on from the port.
- PickApp or a booked taxi: the driver meets you at the ferry port exit and takes you straight to your address anywhere on the island. Rides can be booked up to 30 days ahead.
- Local island bus: buses wait at the dock for the passenger ferries and run to the bus station in Hvar Town. From there you walk the rest of the way with your luggage.
How much does a taxi cost on Hvar?

Can a taxi drop me right at my hotel or apartment?
That depends on where you're staying.
- Outside the old town: yes, the driver can pull up at the entrance to your accommodation.
- Inside the old town or by the harbour: no. The historic centre is a car-free pedestrian zone, so vehicles drop passengers at the designated points around its edge.
What is the Dolac pick-up point?
Since cars can't drive onto the waterfront promenade, Dolac is the taxi hub closest to the harbour that vehicles can actually reach.
Arriving by catamaran, walk 3 to 4 minutes along the seafront towards Dolac. If you book through PickApp, the app navigates you step by step to the car waiting there.
Can I book a taxi in advance on Hvar?
